Abhandlungen des Historischen Vereins des Kantons Bern
Since 1848, the Historische Verein des Kantons Bern has been editing the series Archiv des Historischen Vereins des Kantons Bern. The collection consists of research works on diverse themes and is available to everyone.
Volumes 1 (1848) to 46 (1960) are published in journal format. As from volume 47 (1983), the collection is typically published as a monograph series. From 1846 to 1970, it contains the annual report of the society. As from volume 86 (2010), the books are being published by hier+jetzt.
The Historische Verein des Kantons Bern was founded in 1846. By means of publications, lectures and excursions its members get firsthand information and debates pertaining to the history of Bern. The society seeks to appeal not only to an academic public but to all persons interested in history.
