The magazine Animato, from 1977-1988 still under the title VMS-Bulletin, was published by the Association of Swiss Music Schools. The purpose of the bulletin was to communicate the aims of the association to the outside world. It addressed the findings and problems in music pedagogical work in music schools and provided information about events and competitions for music students. The magazine was initially published four times a year. After a change of title in 1989, it increased to six times a year. In 1998, Animato merged with six other Swiss music magazines to the Schweizer Musikzeitung.
